While the majority of ORE technologies' design team worked in harmony on the Pioneer, one person refused to fall in line. Dr. Mortimer Xin insisted on pushing in a direction that, while innovative, undermined the design team's goals of reliability and accessibility. Eventually, because of the strength of his vision and the importance of his team mates sanity, Xin was reassigned to Outer Ring Development, where he was tasked with designing a new high-end sister ship to the Pioneer. The result was the Outrider, a ship that exchanged long reach for incredible positioning, and reliability for adaptability. The result is a unique vessel that, while less accessible, is undeniable.
